Kids Rx Pro | In The Press
Kid Rx offers flavored prescriptions and old-fashioned customer service. Once you try them, you'll never want to use another pharmacy again.
One trip to Duane Reade is enough to make you long for old-fashioned drugstores -- the kind from "It's a Wonderful Life" with stools, soda-fountains, and friendly pharmacists who make deliveries and house calls.

SoulCycle assumed that these were the relics of a bygone era... until it stumbled upon Kids Rx. Tucked away in the West Village, Kids Rx is a community pharmacy that focuses on medicine for children. They specialize in "pediactric compounding," which is a fancy way of saying they know how to make medicine taste good.

They have 800 -- yes 800! -- flavors to choose from, including peanut butter, chocolate and vodka (only for adults, of course). The pharmacy also boasts Willy Wonka-inspired creations such as medicinal lollipops, gummy bears and puddings.
And just when you think it can't get any better, you meet the owner, William Brownstein, whose level of customer service is guaranteed to shock even the least jaded New Yorkers. For starters, Brownstein guarantees that every medicine will be in stock or the cost is on him; he accepts every kind of U.S. insurance or he will buy your medicine for you; he provides free, same day delivery anywhere in Manhattan and then - get this - calls (more than once!) to follow-up with both child and caregiver. Brownstein makes the process easy so that you can focus on what's important -- caring for your sick child.
Old-fashioned customer service and candy drugs?
It is a wonderful life.
